BMW Servicing –
BMW uses “CBS”, otherwise known as “Condition Based Service”, What does this mean? BMWs system actively monitors various service components for wear, ensuring that your BMW only requests attention when it needs it.
When your BMW wants attention it will come up on your dashboard/idrive screen with Service due. normally “Oil Change Due” With BMW it stores service data in your key and requires to be keyread to determine what your car requires. For an example, Inpsection I – Oil, Microfilter and a small inspection. Inspection II – Oil, Micro, Air, Fuel (If Diesel), Spark Plugs (If Petrol), Vehicle Check and additonal checks.
CBS Items
Oil Service.
The oil and oil filter in your BMW’s engine should be replaced to ensure optimum performance and help maintain efficiency. The microfilter(s) should also be replaced.
Microfilter.
The microfilter/pollen filter should be replaced with every engine oil service. This icon may not be displayed in your BMW.
Front brakes.
The front brake pads on your BMW are close to their wear limit and need replacing. Your brake discs should also be checked.
Spark plugs.
The spark plugs in your petrol engine should be replaced at every second oil service along with the air filter. This icon may not be displayed in your BMW.
Rear brakes.
The rear brake pads on your BMW are close to their wear limit and need replacing. Your brake discs should also be checked.
Diesel particulate filter.
The diesel particulate filter in your BMW may be blocked or need replacing.
Brake fluid.
The brake fluid in your BMW should be replaced to maintain optimum performance. Normally due every 2 years.
MOT/Emissions Inspection
Your BMW is due the annual statutory inspection for vehicles 3 years and older.
Vehicle check.
Your BMW is due a Vehicle Check Service. This symbol may also appear for other vehicle defects that require attention.
Service Documentation
BMWs now come with a digital service history rather than the traditional service book. The good news is, we can update the service history for you in line with your service carried out.
BMW Diagnostics
We have access to the dealer diagnostic system with all the correct test plans, technical data and programming data. With some BMW parts they require to be programmed in, the good news we can do that all in house. Full vehicle software updates also available along with navigation updates. Our system is always kept up to date to keep up with changes. Cars up to 2025.
